Christopher Oden, M.F.A.
For over 20 years, Christopher Oden has pursued parallel careers in computer science and the performing arts. His computer career began at I.B.M., where he spent ten years as a software specialist supporting a variety of research projects, and collaborated in the development of a patented process for manufacturing computer components. He has also served as a specialist at the Center for Speech and Hearing of the City University of New York and with Advanced Hearing Concepts, where he is now Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, and where he and Dr. Levitt collaborated in the development of ReadMyQuips. His expertise ranges from database design and management and web application development to hardware interfacing, data acquisition, process control, computer assisted human subject testing, computer based statistical analysis and digital signal processing.
As a performing artist, Mr. Oden has appeared on numerous stages throughout the country, including Shakespeare Santa Cruz, The Connecticut Repertory Theater, The Illinois Shakespeare Festival, The Commonweal Theater Company, and many others. He has also taught extensively—including three years as an Assistant Professor of Theater Arts at Luther College in Iowa—and served for four years as an advisory panel to the Southeastern Minnestota Arts Council. He is currently a producing artist with The Hamptons Shakespeare Festival in New York.
Mr. Oden holds his B.A. from Yale University, and his M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
